Wow, what a sunset! And what a story. 🙂 It’s amazing what we photographers will do to just preserve the memory even if the photo doesn’t turn out just perfect.
To me it looks like the sky has almost been painted that color. Usually there is some hint or spots of blue, such as in the top left of the picture. Without those, it looks unnatural. But perhaps that’s the way it really was?
Also, I think a darker immediate foreground would bring more attention to the barn. Almost add a localized vignette with LRs new tool?
