Has anyone here ever taken the foundations of photography course? If so, would you advise it?
July 29, 2016 at 10:28 am #18297James StaddonKeymasterSome who have completed the course who are still here on the forums are @dan-cope, @hannahm, @kawrider1978, @sdlee318, @Creative-Click-Photography, and @kalei-pickett. Others are in progress, such as @MelanieThomsen, @lilybet, and @frazer-family. It would be very helpful to hear their honest opinions of the course!

Well said! Yes I would absolutely recommend it!
August 20, 2016 at 7:14 pm #18709Hannah MooreParticipantI began doing the course just before Capture Vermont, Oct. 2015. I quickly tried to learn as much as I could before Capture started up.
I would highly recommend the photography course for anyone. It can be a refresher to those who have been doing photography for awhile, and to a learner who doesn’t have a clue about photography like I did which has not even been a year yet!! I have to say, I learned so much doing the course, and now, submitting pictures and questions for the Pro Critique’s and Pro forums.
I was about to finish my membership until the Pro Critique’s started, and once I entered a picture, I began learning so much more. So again, definitely take the course, it will definitely give you the basics at least,…and more!!!- This reply was modified 54 years, 3 months ago by .
August 22, 2016 at 1:23 pm #18722Melanie ThomsenParticipantHighly recommend the Basic DSLR course!
The course is loaded with information. It has been great to refresh what I already know and start working on what I don’t know. Just last week I was outside with my camera and applied a couple things I’d been learning. It was pretty exciting to ‘see’ the difference! 🙂

I have been through the first 10 lessons, and there are 26 left to go through! They go into detail on just about every photographic topic; obviously @JamesStaddon spent a lot of time writing the course!
I agree with @melaniethomsen, “the course is loaded with information!” If you’re just getting into photography, this course is going to teach you more than you’ll be able to process at once, that’s for sure! 🙂
August 23, 2016 at 7:43 pm #18753Caitlin ComptonParticipantIt’s a fabulous course! 😀 If you want to learn about heaps of terms and stuff, then it will be perfect for you. I’m planning on going through and reading it again soon. There’s so much information in there that I’m sure I can learn HEAPS going through it again. I’m hoping that there will be a part two one day!! 🙂 But the main thing that really makes me choose this course over all the hundreds of other photography courses out there is that it teaches photography from a Christ centered perspective. So would I recommend it – Absolutely!! Thanks so much for putting it together! 🙂
September 5, 2016 at 7:39 pm #18904Austin VinarParticipantThank-you for all the advice! I plan to take it but I have another one I’m doing now.
September 26, 2016 at 7:44 am #19200James StaddonKeymaster@austinvinar, when you’re ready and if you’re interested, I can show you how to get a coupon for the course.
September 26, 2016 at 9:03 am #19205Austin VinarParticipantThank-you, I think it will be a while, but I will let you know.
