Loewen FamilyParticipantBeautiful photos, everyone!!
Here are my photos for this assignment! I managed to get one full batch, yay!
The first one is a robin photo, for the perching category. They are very easy to photograph since they’re everywhere and easy to approach. Even a 300 mm lens like I have can feel pretty short when trying to photograph skittish birds! The second pic is a trumpeter swan! I had mentioned getting to photograph swans in the “Glory of the Morning” assignment, and these are from that same photoshoot! So it is for the chicken-type birds.
The third and fourth photos are both from the wildlife cruise we did; the first one is a juvenile bald eagle (for the eagle category, obviously 😀 ) and the second, some black-legged kittiwakes, for the dove category.
Finally, the last one is a not-so-great photo of a magpie for the raven category. I tried several times to get a good photo but this was the best I got. They are quite skittish!
So excited for the webinar!

ParticipantIt looks there was an issue with some of my photos downloading – how can I fix this?? Thanks for the help!

Loewen FamilyParticipantIt says “File exceeds allowed size.” Maybe you did high quality JPGs instead of 90% quality? (I’m referencing options on lightroom)

Hi @joannapotter, if you actually just make sure to upload your high resolution (or full size) images to this link, that would be great. No need to re-upload the smaller versions on the forum here.
Love seeing all these submissions coming in, everyone!

Samuel ChingParticipantHere is my first batch of photos for this assignment. I love photographing birds, so this was really fun! We also just did the Bird Count for Nature Friend. I was planning to do one batch of Hawaiian birds and one batch of mainland birds, but I don’t have any Hawaiian birds for the raven category, so I’m using a raven pic I got in Alaska.

Don StaddonParticipantGood to see the fruit of your labors and hear about the lessons behind the photographs.
Isn’t it satisfying when your own personal experience can reach out and pull from natural history, mechanics, raw ingenuity, and God-given opportunities to produce an inspiring piece of artwork?! We have begun to scratch the surface of Jesus’ love and wisdom in the command of Matthew 6:26!!!
A memorable Memorial Day to those in the States and I very much anticipate seeing what everyone comes up with for the June assignment as well.

Don StaddonParticipantThe Crows we have here were very active this morning despite incessant rain.
After such a thrilling webinar, seeing them reminded me of your all’s Raven/Crow/Magpie/Cockatoo/Kea/Fantail/Tui/Blue Jay pictures!
Judging was quite a feat. Thank you again for the variety of pictures. I will look forward to sending prizes and replying to more of the previous comments when I have time.May 28, 2025 at 5:10 pm #95876
James StaddonKeymasterAnd for those of you who were not able to attend the webinar, below is a screenshot of the winning photos! And here’s the link to the replay, too, if you want to watch that. 🙂 It was really good: https://www.lenspiration.com/video/webinar113/
