So excited to have a ton more locations added to the Scouting Guide this month!
Here are pictures from my 1 star location, as well as favorites from Cathedral State Park.

Hi, what format am I supposed to use when I submit the GPS coordinates? should it be N. 11.11111, W. 11.11111? or should I say Latitude 11.11111 Longitude -11.11111? Any help is much appreciated.

@jerrell, if you do the Latitude & Longitude option, that would be ideal! You can just submit the numbers, though, so using the numbers from your example you’d just put “11.11111, -11.11111”. Excited to see your location submissions!
Ok. Thank you @lenspirationlydia, that sounds great! I found a website that is super helpful in finding GPS coordinates.

If you’re using Google Maps on the computer, you should also be able to right-click to view the coordinates.
How should I submit my scenic spots for this assignment? Should I submit the locations into the scouting guide and then upload the photos here, or just list my locations here and attach the pictures? Do all the locations need to be submitted at the same time? Grateful for any assistance.

Hey Cody! You should submit your locations to the Scouting Guide submission link on the assignment details page. Locations do not need to be submitted at the same time. Just make sure all locations you submit are in before the assignment deadline of Saturday, July 26 at midnight.
As with most assignments, you can feel free to share photos and stories behind locations here on the forum, but it’s not required or necessary. The forum is the place to share any extra tidbits or questions you have related to your photos, that you’re not going to be including in the location details on the Scouting Guide.

One of the spots I’ll be adding is a picturesque rest stop we visit when traveling in Vermont. Just a 1 star location, but it’s fun to photograph and worth everyone knowing about through the Scouting Guide!

Here are the pictures for my first location: Midway Congregational Church, GA. I had a great time visiting this place last October.

These are the pictures for my other location: Upper Whitewater Falls, NC. My family stopped here on our family vacation to NC in April 2024. It was an awesome spot. I would have liked to take pictures at some new locations for this assignment, but I ran out of time, so I just pulled these two locations out of my portfolio. I hope they inspire others to come see them sometime!

I submitted two locations. These are my favorite pictures for them. (I submitted more for the guide).
Glade Top Trail is known for it’s fall colors But I really like it in early summer when the wild flowers are blooming.
The Road Side Park isn’t really a landscape location but it works very well for portraits. Because of that, I only had portrait pictures for that location. (And I don’t have model releases for the models.) This month I stopped and got some pictures to give the general idea of the location.
