Autumn Stamper
ParticipantHi everyone!!
I realize this is an old forum but it came up when I was searching through name ideas. I’m starting out my business this year but I’m not sure on a name. For the longest time I was set on using “Simply Elegant Photography” but soon found out there are a bunch of businesses with that name in them.
I wanted it to be unique and more me than anything. I’m a lifestyle and event photographer so I do all the things from Seniors, to newborns, anniversary, awards, banquets and one day hopefully a wedding (ps if you or someone you know could use a second shooter I’d love to do it!). I also shoot real estate on the side 😀
Anywho, I have also considered the possibility of incorporating my name in it; I don’t want my last name but definitely could use Autumn and Jade/Jayde.
Here are a few I have considered but not sold on any of them. I built a website for the one name and now can’t use it so I’m stuck trying to get this done before Spring. Thank you so much in advance!!!

KeymasterThis is a really good question, @cowgirlforchrist15! What part of the country are you from? I’m guessing maybe Texas? I’ll see if I can bring this up on the webinar tonight too! https://www.lenspiration.com/product/photo-coaching-109/

Participant@jamesstaddon thank you!
As much as I wish I was from Texas, I’m actually from your neck of the woods! I’m in WV;(which is so perfect for photos outside 🤭) just the southern part 😎Unfortunately I couldn’t make the webinar 😣 but would still love your thoughts if you have any 😀
Oh and I also do pet photography which I somehow forgot to mention earlier. Thanks again!

ParticipantHi Autumn! That is neat that you are starting a photography business. If you use your personal name in your business name, it can be more timeless, and easier for people that you meet to remember. I would suggest using fonts to communicate your style (Western, Elegant, Country etc.). If you are an artist, you can even draw a logo using a font style you create. The attached picture is of a sample logo design, that we made using your name and the style that we gathered from the names that you mentioned. I personally wouldn’t use “Barnyard Memories”, because I grew up on a farm, and my memories of the barnyard are not exactly picturesque. 😁
Some names that my sisters helped think of are:
• Autumn Jade Photography
• Memories by Autumn
• Simply Autumn Photography
• Country Fence Photography
• Country Scenes Captured
• Virginia Jewel Photography
• Virginia Girl Photography
We are praying for you as you embark on this adventure! Seek the Lord, and choose a “Good Name”! 🙂 Proverbs 22:1

ParticipantHere are the attachments. One of the logos has the outline of your state behind it. When we looked online to see if anyone else was using any of the names we thought of, we found an Autumn Jade Photography located in TN. These are just an illustration of how your logo can portray your style.

ParticipantAlso, if you get the chance to watch the webinar replay, Mr. James gave some good answers to your question, and input on your names. 🙂

KeymasterThank you for your input, @parrisfamily Ruth! Excellent considerations.
@cowgirlforChrist15, I’m sorry I had forgotten you were from WV! I think something western feeling would still work around here. 🙂As I was thinking about your name, the idea of doing some sort of play on words came to mind….
* Autumn Every Day
* Autumn Memories
…Something that would be initially associated with the season, but then after folks see that it is actually referring to your name, they would think, “ah, that’s creative!”. And then you could use a western font or a cowgirl hat or something West Virginian in your logo.

We used Photoshop to create the logo design and Lightroom to apply the watermark to the picture. You can find free/affordable fonts online. (Make sure that any font that you use in your logo comes with a commercial license.) After you download and install the fonts on your computer, you can access them in Photoshop. Design your logo with no background, crop it down to the size of your design and export it as a PNG or TIFF file. You will then be able to open your logo in Lightroom’s export page as a watermark.Here is one more logo design idea for you. 🙂
