Welcome to the forums, Sarah Clarke!
For the first one, personally I’ll say to rotate it clockwise by 90 degrees, so that the horizon level could be horizontal.
I really like the second one. Water drops on flowers create a special effect of delicacy.
Do you have an editing software? If so, maybe adding a bit of contrast and saturation could add some vibrancy.
Also, keep an eye open for distractions in the background. This is the hard task for macro shots. You can try different angles or positions until you find a bokeh (blurred background) as ”plain” as possible.- This reply was modified 54 years, 9 months ago by .

I also like the second picture… There’s something about roses that attracts photographers. 🙂 I remember taking pictures of roses covered with frost, and being disappointed later that they didn’t turn out nicer.
One nice thing about cameras with itty-bitty sensors is that they usually have more depth-of-field, so you can get the whole rose in focus. These little phone/tablet cameras can get some amazing pictures!

I’m going through old posts here after being away for much of the summer.
Gotta say! I’m just blown away with the visual quality that you were able to get with your iPad mini! Both shots are totally in focus and vibrant in color.
It’s obvious you have an artistic eye, having the ability to pull out beauty in your every-day surroundings. About the two shots you posted, I would say overall, think deliberately about every element you are including in the frame.
In the raindrop shot, is the frame deliberately crooked or is it not level by mistake?
In the rose shot (exquisite detail, by the way!), is the pathway supposed to be an important element in the frame? why is the background rose cropped off if it’s in the frame? is the big rose deliberately off-centered?
Keep running your eyes around the edges of the frame while you’re shooting, just like you would run your fingers around a picture frame looking for dust.
