Yeah, it would be neat to experiment shooting that scene with a long lens (if you are at that scene often) to see what you can get other than the wide shot.
I think you did the best you could do with that shot. The spacing is pleasing to me. And the fact that the main tree is off center, yet not completely on the right third gives it a little more energy, complementing the high-key processing. There’s a pleasing balance between empty space (sky) and subject matter (trees) that’s hard to explain too.
