I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to help prevent sun flare in my photos. I have been having repeated issues with it in my pictures lately. I use the Photos program on Apple computers for editing, so I have trouble removing it in editing, especially when it shows up on an object with a lot of texture. The retouch tool in Photos will generally just smear the area where the sun flare is, making the removal very obvious and the photo distasteful. So, I’m trying to find some ways to keep sun flare from happening in the first place. In the two pictures here that I took for the most recent assignment, I was using an 18-55 mm lens without any filter on it and was trying to capture the starburst effect next to the church. I really liked the angle of the shots and was disappointed to see that they were not presentable. Does anyone have any suggestions? Might certain filters help with this problem?
