Why is the photo on its side?
That’s a good question! Something got a little messed up with that photo somehow. If you use Jeffrey’s Exif Viewer to check it, it shows “Rotate 90° CW” (I assume that means ‘clockwise’?) in the “Orientation” row. If you open the image on Lenspiration in your browser, then right click on it and “View Image” it is orientated correctly.
Also, if you scroll all the way down to the bottom, it shows some errors/warnings.
As far as the picture itself is concerned, it does look the eyelash/eyebrow is pretty much in focus. However the eye itself is not. I think it would be interesting to try to get the eye and the lashes in focus by raising your aperture (maybe to f/11 or so) and focusing on the retina.
