[Blessings Captured]

I had fun taking pictures on your back porch that my Dad made. Here are a couple of them. Do you have any tips on composition, editing etc?

All: NikonD3400,18-55mm lens,white balance-preset manual from a gray card,iso 100,and tripod

Zinnia bouquet- 1/8 sec. f/4 26mm
Sunflower on light wood-1/13 sec. f/4.5 34mm
Sunflower on red wood-1/15 sec. f/5.3 46mm
Pumpkin-1/6 sec. f/5.3 48mm

Wow! I love these photos! You could really get a nice series going here, with tons of different subjects, as well as different levels of simplicity (i.e. nothing on the ground, as in these photos; some hay or small flowers scattered on the ground, etc.)

I notice in your first sunflower picture, there are two tiny dots on the leaves (left/center) – I think if you edit those out, it will add another level of perfect-ness to the photo. 🙂

There’s a glare on the pumpkin – it would be nice if you could figure out a way to eliminate that.

Thank you @Lydiabennett for your suggestions on different arrangements. Most of the time I can quickly grasp technical things but the creativity is were I’m lacking. I have to ask my sister for ideas (we’re opposite 🙂 ).

Aww that’s fun to have your sister help you like that!

See, now I’m the opposite of you – I tend to get great ideas for pictures, but am a bit slow on the techie side of things.

It’s so neat to think how God gave each one of us different aspects of ability and creativity like that – and either way, we can be used to honor Him through the skills He has given us!
