Hi! 🙂
Here’s a picture I recently took of a cup of coffee. I was originally trying for a picture with steam, but when that didn’t work, I decided to try and just get a good picture without steam. I took the picture in our shed, so that means I could get the wooden bench it’s on! 🙂 I had a light shining on it, since it was pretty dark in the shed. What could I have done better? What about the editing I’ve done?
Here are the settings I used:
Camera- Canon 60D
Lens – Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8
Aperture – f/3.2
ISO – 200
Shutter Speed – 1/50May 29, 2017 at 6:03 am #23546David FrazerParticipantNice photo! I would prefer to see it from a slightly lower angle, but that is my preference. (I also prefer tea over coffee.)
If you want to see the steam a lower angle could also help in that you could put the cup near the edge of the bench and make the background perfectly black. To do this, you can place a black object in the background (the further away the better) and block all the light coming in on the background.

Also maybe a little more light on the coffee cup, because to me it seems like the beans are the main focus.

Thanks @jinnyschober! 🙂 I think that you are both right, I should have tried it at a lower angle. I was taking it for a small competition in which I had to take a picture with H20 in it, so I wanted plenty of it in there hence the angle I chose. But when I looked at it on the computer I thought something wan’t quite right, but couldn’t work it out! So there you go! 🙂 I know now! 😀
