May 31, 2024 at 1:45 pm #87186Grace GaldamezParticipantI have a question, should I edit the photo like James did?, like the image of crosscurrent postcast on the device screen? or there is no problem with that?…
June 3, 2024 at 11:14 am #87203Lydia BennettKeymasterThat is one option for a way to photograph the assignment, @grace-galdamez! Another idea would be to actually go to CrossCurrent’s website on the device, select a podcast or audiobook to display, and then take the pictures that include the device – no photoshop needed.
June 3, 2024 at 3:09 pm #87209James StaddonKeymasterHi @grace-galdamez, if you end up doing the Photoshoping like I did, two suggestions:
1) Make it as realistic as possible. It could be that a photo they would have picked they decide not to pick for the reason that it looks fake.
2) I would submit to Dropbox both versions, the one that wasn’t Photohsopped, and the one that was. That way the publisher can see both and choose to do the Photoshop work themselves, or choose the work you did if it’s good enough. And of course, be sure to save locally on your computer the original version that has had no Photoshop work done to it so you can always go back and re-do the Photoshop work if ever needed!

I decided to try to take the pictures for this assignment without a person!
I found it the same as what @jamesstaddon said in his post “I had one idea for how to photograph someone “listening to an audiobook”, so I started with that . . . and then it was amazing to see how other ideas popped up from there!”
Looking forward to seeing all the different inspirations!

You can submit photos as many times as you’d like, up to 10 photos per week. I’ll add that into the assignment details so everyone sees it there as well.
And it is SO great to see the photos that have come in so far! Can’t wait to see how the first week’s review on Friday goes. Keep up the good work, everyone!

June 7, 2024 at 3:19 pm #87266Lydia BennettKeymasterAnnnd…we have a winner for week 1!!
Congratulations, @laura-aome on having one of your photos chosen as the first week’s winner!
Here’s what CrossCurrent had to say:
“First off, I am so impressed by the level of quality! All the students did an exceptional job.
For this week’s winner, we’ll pick [Laura’s photo]. I love how the subject is somewhat in action, and the way the photo’s colors fit together so well.”
Can’t wait to see what’s submitted this coming week!
