I didn’t take a lot of pictures this past year, so I didn’t have very many to choose from. In fact, six of the pictures were taken the same day. 🙂 But I still came up with something for each month. Here is January through May.

I used this assignment to do multiple organizing on last year’s pictures. One thing was marking the ones that would work well for stock.
I think my two favorites are the purple larkspur for April and the blue chicory for September.
Going through my pictures showed me in what seasons I’m lacking in pictures and where I need to work on getting more.

I find it to be true with me also, @samuelwest, that some photo shoots are more productive than others. I’ll work hard to be at a good place for landscape photos at the right time of day, and compose photos there as purposefully as possible . . . and still not come away with anything. Whereas some locations, I’ll do the exact same thing, and I’ll use photos from that one shoot in many different calendars for many years! It’s part of the game of photography, I guess. 🙂 I was quite impressed with your first photo, how it is fitting for January, even though it probably wasn’t a January day at all. You do well at finding photos that fit each season of the year even though you live in a location that doesn’t have very distinct seasons.
I’m always amazed, @blessingscaptured, at the variety of subjects you are able to find and photograph even though you probably do not do much travel. It is portfolios like yours that keep my belief strong that you can be a good photographer no matter where you live in the world!
It was neat to hear the things you learned from this assignment. Sorting my photos helps me to keep tabs on season deficiencies as well. I remember a few years ago thinking I needed more autumn photos. So I prioritized that. And did you notice how many photos in the 2026 calendar survey were autumn photos?! What’s on my mind now is “I need more winter photos”. So, we’ll see what the 2027 calendar survey will be like. 🙂
I think my favorite two of your twelve are June’s fruit basket, and yeah, the blue flowers for September. 🙂 Keep up the good work!

That’s interesting to me that the vegetable basket is one of your favorites. I was wondering if it had enough details/unique enough for a main calendar picture.
