ParticipantHere are the first 5 of my photos for this assignment. I am so thankful to God that I was able to fit in the time to finally submit these photos and before the timed deadline!
Suggested scripture for the photos:
1. Ant – “Go the ant you sluggard…” Proverbs 6:6 (and or 7 & 8)
2. Rosebud blossoms – Matthew 6:28-29 or Matthew 6:34
3. Maroon opening bud – Matthew 6:28-29 or Matthew 6:34
4. Bee and flower – Matthew 6:28-29 or Matthew 6:34; “Sweeter than honey…” Psalm 119:103
5. Radiant pinkish blossom flower – “Consider the lilies of the field…even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these…” Matthew 6:28-29 or Matthew 6:34Short Description of how I took each photo:
1. Ants: I was up in AR with my family visiting the extended family. My cousin was very impressed with my photo work and requested that I take photos of the ants. I took some photos and got my shutter speed to 1/1000 since the ants on the ground were really moving fast, and I wanted to capture at least one. I was so surprised that I got 3 ants in a line! I showed my cousin who was amazed at the macro photos of the ants.
2. Rosebud blossoms: Lately I’ve been fascinated with flower buds before they blossom, and these rosebuds were radiantly red and would be great as Light Stock photos whenever I get around to doing Light Stock. I found the delicate radiant rosebuds to be beautiful with the blurred background of pink flowers. I took several dozen photos of different compositions and angles to get the best shot, as I do with almost all my photos (exempt for times when I have to just take a quick photo when on the run through various activities).
3. Maroon bud opening: As mentioned previously, I’ve been fascinated with flower buds just before they blossom. I loved this maroon bud coloring and a common theme of my flower photos is the dark backgrounds that I obtain mostly because I take photos in a thick garden of other plants, and it creates natural shadowing/darkening of the background.
4. Bee and flower: I got a new macro lens in early 2021, and this one of my photos that I captured. I was amazed at the fine detail.
5. Radiant pinkish blossom flower: I looked around my grandma’s garden to capture photos for this assignment. These are Japanese Meadowsweet.May 28, 2022 at 11:16 am #70745Hannah F.

ParticipantSorry for the amount of repeated images. The last three didn’t upload in my previous post until later; I guess it just took a little bit longer for them to load.

ParticipantHere are my last 5. I am unable to write the long description as I did similarly due to time, however just note that a took a break from pulling weeds from the garden to capture these photos! By the way, these water drops are not at all staged; these were naturally wet from an early morning shower.
I am pleased about the last photo of the waterdrops in the grass. These are also naturally wet either from a light morning shower, morning dew, or early sprinkler system. Either way, I did not stage the water. This was also one of my early photos using my macro lens when I got it first in 2021. I first crouched down in the grass and set my focus. I wasn’t satisfied with the limited span I could get crouched. After using the LCD screen several times, I just crouched in the grass and snapped several of the photos. You could say that I took the photos blindly, because I didn’t use the viewfinder and when crouching, I couldn’t even view the LCD screen much for composition or focus. So, the result was rather amazing due to how I was able to capture it.Cheers to all of you photographers. Wonderful job on your photos!

Participant@blessingscaptured (to Sarah): To me, the Swallowtail butterfly is the main one that is super sharp. Way to go! It’s beautiful and stunning. What camera did you use for it and what is your new camera now?
Love the goldfinch @Christian-horstmann! How far were you from the goldfinch, and did you use a 75-400 mm or possibly greater? I imagine that your advantage was that you were rather close to this by several feet, versus my attempts at more than 5-8 feet away!

ParticipantHere are my pictures. When I was taking the rose picture, I was trying to get the water droplets to reflect the rose in the background. They did reflect it but I was unable to zoom in close to the droplets while still being able to focus on them. My camera would focus on the background instead of focusing on the droplets.
