Scenario #1: This one was hard to capture because my brother was actually playing the piano, so freezing the action was difficult while keeping the composition and lighting the way I wanted it.

Scenario #2: I asked my grandmother if she would be willing to pick some of her zinnias while I photographed her. I got some really pretty photos of the flowers by them self later.

Well, I guess I didn’t make this assignment! I had a few photos that I was thinking to try submitting, but never got much inspiration for this assignment, somehow… and then we got super busy with family from out of state (and out of country), and it happened to be right over the deadline!😅
But yes, it was so fun to see everyone else’s submissions come in! Hope the webinar is awesome, I will probably watch it on replay since I am busy again today. 🙂-Leanne
First of all, thank you, Donald, for providing three assignments back to back for us over the past several months. At first, I wasn’t sure if photographing for one publisher multiple times was going to get boring, but as it turned out, it was the complete opposite, becoming a unique experience that built on itself and providing a feeling like we were shooting for something bigger and more important than normal!
Secondly, congratulations to the three photographers who won this assignment! Donald was very precise in choosing the winners, and it was neat to hear him share how each one had a neat way of fulfilling the key qualifications he was looking for. Attached are the three winning photos by Jemima, Laura, and Allison.
And thirdly, if you missed the webinar, you can watch the replay at https://www.lenspiration.com/video/webinar114/ Before the webinar, I spend some time looking for similar, professional example photos to share as comparisons during the webinar to help visualize ways to make some of the submissions better. And because 14 photographers submitted 95 photos, it was intense to see them all be narrowed down based on specific parameters to the top 19 finalists and then finally, the top 3 winners. And of course, you had to wait to the very end of the webinar to find out what James Staddon has in common with West Virginia Day. 🙂 It was a good webinar!
