KeymasterASSIGNMENT DETAILS:
• Publisher: Karen Whiting, author
• Purpose: To promote an upcoming book release titled “Growing a Joyful Heart”. The photos from this assignment will be used in promotion of the book, and for posts on Karen’s blog and social media.
• Request: Karen would like photos that illustrate any of the following concepts:
– Jump for joy
– Jack in the box joy
– Joy at sunset
– Joy in nature
– Joy when opening a gift
– Joy at opening empty Easter eggs because the tomb is empty
– Joy after a hurricane because we are safe
– Joy of a special needs child (For example, Karen shares that when she taught crafts to adult special needs, one lit up when he made a candle by adding ice cubes to a milk carton with the wax in it, so when it cooled it had a lace pattern)
– Joy in receiving cards of encouragement and joyful news, or care packages that include scriptures
– Joy in discovering the wonder of math in creation through symmetry, shapes, and patterns
• Special Instructions: Not all pictures have to include happy smiles, but can even simply demonstrate eyes lit up with joy that shines from within. Photos could be simply the beauty of nature with light in it, or people expressing joy by having fun. Karen mentioned she would love to have couples and families in photos too.
• Orientation: Horizontal is best. Photos will likely be cropped square for the social media posts.
• Photo Specs: Photos should be a minimum of 1200px wide.
• How to Submit: Members can follow the A, B, C process outlined here. (Instructions for non-members can be viewed here.) You can submit up to 10 photos.
• Remuneration: All photographers who have one or more of their photos chosen will be promoted by Karen and her co-author Pam Farrell on their sites and to their followers. Each Lenspiration member who has one or more of their photos chosen will receive a free copy of Karen’s book when published this spring, if desired.
• Terms: By submitting your photo(s) on this forum, you agree to the terms outlined in the STS Photo Assignment Agreement. Karen Whiting reserves the right to use any of the photos that are submitted for this assignment.
• Deadline: Midnight Saturday, January 28, 2023 (or until this topic is no longer highlighted yellow).
• Important note: If people you photograph are recognizable in the photos you submit, they (or the parents/guardian of the person) will need to sign a model release (like this one). You do not need to submit the signed model release(s) to Lenspiration unless specifically requested.LEARN HOW:

ParticipantHey guys! It’s been forever! I’m in the process of trying to get a new camera right now so I defiantly miss shooting for the assignment.
@warrior-princess I was really impressed to see your pictures! I absolutely love the flowers and her outfit! The camera quality looks especially good on the first and last. The dog looks pretty sharp in the middle one. I love the color of the grass! I don’t even know how you did that! Lol! This is the only thing I have that would kinda match this assignment. I did this picture a while ago for a dif assignment.January 23, 2023 at 1:51 pm #74338Warrior Princess

ParticipantHere are some of my photos for this assignment. I decided to shoot the “joy at sunset” concept. I got my parents to help out for this assignment. The sunset wasn’t super awesome that day, but I tried to make the most of it. I was satisfied with the outcome of the pictures, but I was disappointed to find out later that there was some noise in the pictures. I hope it isn’t too noticeable.
