Here are some of my favorite pictures I’ve captured so far in my photography journey! I had no previous photography experience prior to taking this course but it has been absolutely wonderful and I’ve found that photography is something I really enjoy!

That’s so good to hear, @olivia-morgan-photo. I love the creativity in taking pictures of daffodils at sunset!
The photo taken during the day has more of a “snapshot” feel – it’s not a particularly artistic angle, the lighting is not especially dynamic, etc. However, this all changes with the photos at sunset! You got down low to capture the flowers close up and at a unique angle. You went out at sunset instead of the middle of the day. You tried out some different compositions. You used some different exposures (I like that last picture where you took it at a brighter exposure so the details in the flowers are more visible!).
It’s so great that you’re getting out and really practicing what you’re learning! Keep up the good work!
Isn’t that fun, to discover an enjoyable, new, constructive, non-computer (mostly), outdoorsy thing to do! If you didn’t already know, I love color in photos, so I really like your subjects, yellow flowers and sunset sky. 🙂
I like how you got down on the level of the flowers in the last set of photos (as opposed to the first).
Notice how in the very last photo (IMG_7462-2.jpg),you can see the shape of the flowers better than the previous two. This is mostly because a brighter exposure is used, but it’s also because the backlit flower is up against the part of the background that is dark. Since the pedals are partially transparent, it allows the light to illuminate them and set them apart better than if they were against the sky. So, I like that about the last one. The color isn’t as good, though, so the silhouettes in the others work well. If they were more “set apart” from other silhouetted elements, it would help me recognize them as daffodils more readily. Some of the photos have nice level horizons, so that’s good.
Just some random comments upon first look!
Really nice photos especially for somebody who is just starting to do photography a little more seriously. The main thing I probably would have done differently is changed the exposure of the last three where more detail of the flowers would definitely have improved the pictures over all. besides that I would have maybe tried, if possible, to put the tree as much as I could to the side so that it was just part of the frame of the picture, since lines (especially diagonal ones) can be very distracting to the eye. Besides the things I mentioned everything looks really nice.

After rain is a great time to go out and take pictures of flowers! The color is so vibrant. It can be challenging if it’s a bit dark out, but other than that it’s such a nice time for photography!
Compositionally, I probably would leave a little more breathing room on the left. You have a nice framing element with the leaf in the upper right corner, and the flowers themselves are a nice shape. And I love how you found a patch of green to backdrop the flowers too. It would just feel more balanced if the flowers weren’t centered, especially since they’re “pointing” towards the left side of the frame.
The photo also seems a little soft, so I’m not sure if the focus just wasn’t quite nailed, or if you had a slower shutterspeed due to the low light and that’s giving a lack of clarity. But just keep an eye on that, and continue to learn how to work through those issues.
