Yeah, that does stimulate the desire to try and create some “fire shots” of my own.
Am curious. In the transition areas between the flames and where you brushed the background to make it black, it appears banded horizontally. As if a kitchen towel was used as a backdrop or something funky was going on with the sensor picking up the light. Any explanation?
It’s neat to see you used the shutterspeed that you did to get some blur in the flame; my first thought with a composition like this would be to use a faster shutterspeed to capture the action. Good call.
Does it appear to you that many of the match heads (all so humorous!) are out of focus? Perhaps a narrow aperture would have helped.
