Hi everyone, Nicole is a church pianist who saw the need for a more pianist-friendly hymnal and is doing something about it! She is in the process of creating a hymnal, organizing a brand-new compilation of well-known hymns in familiar keys and simple chords for the beginning church pianist.
She originally created a basic website for the project, using stock photos provided by her website’s host. However, she is now in the process of building a new website and will be unable to use the pictures from the previous website for her project as she will not be using the same host.
If anyone is interested in helping Nicole with this project by supplying her with the needed photos, here’s the list of her needs (please view the original photos on her current website here for reference)!
Homepage
Photo 1. Cover photo: closeup of well-manicured hands, good posture, playing a traditional (non-digital) piano
Photo 2. Hymnal open to “O Worship the King” with shallow depth of field
Photo 3. Good condition, uniform hymnals neatly sitting in old-fashioned church pew hymnal holders (preferably use the Majesty Hymnal, Great Hymns of the Faith, Songs & Hymns of Revival, Living Hymns, or some combination of these instead of the hymnals pictured)Features Page
Photo 1. Blank, spiral bound notebook – could be replaced by a spiral bound hymnal in good condition (without showing the brand)
Photo 2. Printer in sleek, clean, bright office environment
Photo 3. Young studious pianist pictured playing from sheet music (blurred out as part of background), displaying good posture, sharp outfit
Photo 4. Hymnals or books neatly lined up or in a neat pile (no titles displayed), with color variety
Photo 5. “Typical” sized sheet music with reading glasses, with shallow depth of field
Photo 6. “Public Domain” image – Nicole doesn’t care for the youth choir photo for this section, and is open to other ideas!
Photo 7. Field with bright sun – indicating new horizons / beginningDirectory Page
Photo 1. Hymnals/books arranged artistically – no titles visible – with color varietyFeel free to pull photos from your portfolio, or to go out and shoot any of these concepts!

Attached here are photos for the Homepage: photos #1 & #2, and two photo concepts for the Directory page with the hymnals arranged “artistically”.
Anyone else shooting this assignment?

January 15, 2024 at 12:25 pm #84575Lydia BennettKeymasterYay! Glad to hear that, @laura-aome!
I’m still thinking up some ideas for Photo 6 (for “Public domain”) on the Features page. I’m pondering taking some of the concepts from what the website says in the paragraph for that section, “Whether you use our hymnal for writing your own arrangements, livestreaming, music recordings, or otherwise, there are no legal concerns to be worried about.”
Maybe a musician working on an arrangement (at the piano with a computer), or someone with headphones looking like they’re recording something?
I’d be interested to hear if anyone else has had any creative ideas for that particular photo!

The three music pictures are for the “O Worship the King.” The third one is for “artistically arranged books.” The books are stair stepped.
This Bible verse comes to mind: I Corinthians 14:40, “Let all things be done decently and in order.” Isn’t this so true for music? In or world today so many people do not have truly God-centered music. God made an orderly world for a purpose.

Taking these pictures were a bit of a challenge. The hymnal ones were easier because they were in the shade. The camera had to focus on the glasses properly. It was hard to have shallow depth of field and to have a good background.
