KeymasterASSIGNMENT DETAILS:
• Publisher: Pennsylvania State Representative Andrew Lewis
• Purpose: Representative Lewis is looking for photos that can be used for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day social media posts for sharing on his official legislative Facebook page which has more than 30,000 followers.
• Request: Representative Lewis is looking for 3 photos:1) For a Memorial Day social media post: A patriotic photo that captures the concept of gratitude for our fallen soldiers.
2) For an Independence Day social media post: A patriotic photo that captures love of country (scenery, flag, national monuments, etc.)
3) For a Labor Day social media post: A photo that captures gratitude for hardworking Americans.
• Special Instructions: Please leave room for a title such as “Happy Memorial Day” to be placed somewhere on the photo.
• Orientation: Horizontal or Square
• Photo Specs: Photos should be a minimum of 1200px longest edge
• How to Submit: Members can follow the A, B, C process outlined here. (Instructions for non-members can be viewed here.) You can submit up to 3 photos per category, with a maximum combined total of 9 photos.
• Remuneration: Each individual winner for the 3 photo concepts will receive a personal thank you note from Representative Lewis on legislative letterhead, as well as a small commemorative gift from the Pennsylvania State Capitol.
• Terms: By submitting your photo(s) on this forum, you agree to the terms outlined in the STS Photo Assignment Agreement. Representative Lewis will reserve the right to use any of the photos that are submitted for this assignment.
• Deadline: Midnight Saturday, April 30, 2022 (or until this topic is no longer highlighted yellow).
• Important note: If you include a recognizable model in your photos, the person you photograph (or the parents/guardian of the person) will need to sign a model release (like this one). You do not need to submit the signed model releases to Lenspiration unless specifically requested.LEARN HOW:

KeymasterOk, my brother was out working on the truck the other day so I asked him if I could take some photos! It was harder than I anticipated, getting artistic angles of his work and excluding messy work areas so the photos wouldn’t look cluttered. Chose to go with backlighting since the sun was so harsh and I didn’t want nasty shadows. It was pretty bright out though. I think I left enough space for a “Happy Labor Day” message to get added in. Here are two of the photos I took.

ParticipantThese would be Memorial Day or Independence Day photos (probably leaning more towards Memorial Day!). The last photo is the Bunker Hill Monument in Boston. The vertical gravestone pictures show Paul Revere’s gravestone to the far right. I didn’t realize I had captured that, so when I looked back on my pictures, I thought that was pretty neat!
