ParticipantHere my edit of your pictures. i like your first picture, its really neat! some of the edits it did were…an auto tone one your pictures and increased contrast and cropped a little. on the picture with the rainbow i highlighted the rainbow with the adjustment brush, and increased saturation on the rainbow. i would say the they all need brightened a little more, to make them look perfect! 🙂

ParticipantThank you Jenna! I like how brightening up the one of the flowers makes the redbuds come out more.

KeymasterHi @blessingscaptured, I know it’s been over two months since you asked your question here, but I am just now getting back to engaging on the forums after the various happenings in October. Before I think about how to best reply to your question, would a reply still be helpful now that it’s been so long?
Also, I assume you have already done some editing on these photos. If so, could you explain a little about what it is that you do not like about each one? What makes you feel like they need re-edited?
Thanks!

ParticipantThank you. It would be educational, but not immediate pertinent. (I’ve already printed the pictures.)
I originally put them on here because in the webinar they where marked as needing edited. I also have been trying to work on my editing recently.
When I edited them I had tried to bring out the colors and clarity.
In the one of the flowers, the white ones were a little bright, so I tried to tone them down.December 13, 2024 at 9:46 am #91695James Staddon
KeymasterSweet! I remember now.
I’m forgetting the edit needed on the first one, of the gorgeous, stormy landscape. I think what I saw was it appeared that a gradient mask was used on the sky to darken it, but it also darkened the distant mountains and some of the green trees, indicating a gradient that was applied hastily. However, looking at it now, I can see how the dark mountains could be completely natural, if the foreground is partially sun-lit, and the the background is in shadow under the storm clouds. So, I do not see any needed edits on this one!
The second one….oh dear, I’m not really seeing any edit job needed on this one either. Perhaps my computer screen was showing the white balance as too warm? Or perhaps the sky just looked too gray? I don’t remember! If the sky was gray naturally, then I wouldn’t saturate it up unnaturally. Or, perhaps a white point needs set?
The last one, of the flowers, is the one I remember! I would just do what I could to brighten up the flowers so the petals look less like they were in shadow. Either brighten the whole photo, or do some local adjustments to make the petals look more “white”. However, this may not be something you want to do because it would be “unnatural”….the flowers are in shadow, so that’s just the way they will have to stay.
I’m curious, how did the photos turn out when printed?!

ParticipantThank you for your comments!
I think they printed will. The colors are vibrant and the details are sharp.December 18, 2024 at 9:41 am #91747James Staddon
KeymasterGood! Did you print them for your calendar?
