ParticipantHello🙂
I have recently joined Lenspiration (what a blessing to have a Christian photography course! Thank you!) and I would love to be able to blur the backgrounds in photos, but I don’t know how…🙂 My camera is a Sony DSC-HX300. Is there an easy way to do this? I think it’s something to do with aperture, and /or ISO? Thank you:-) Laura

KeymasterWelcome, welcome @laura-aome!! So glad to have you on board with Lenspiration! 🙂
Blurred backgrounds are the best! Personally, one of my favorite techniques to use! The link that Hannah gave you for the lesson on background blur is a fantastic place to answer your specific question.
I did want to mention, if you know terms like “Aperture”, “ISO” or other settings and terms like that but you’re not sure how to utilize them, the Foundations Course is a good place to start. It teaches, well, the foundations of photography! 🙂 Once you’ve walked through that course, the Explore Course builds on that knowledge and discusses how to shoot in Full Manual, as well as learning various effects and techniques that you can use in photography.
Both of these courses are free with your membership, and can be found on your Membership Portal under the “Member Features” section!
God bless you as you grow in your photography! It’s a great gift.
