James StaddonKeymasterAnd here is the photo that fit best into the PowerPoint design! Congratulations @bennett-family. Payment for your photo is made possible by the generous contribution of an anonymous donor who wanted to help budding photographers like you deepen your skills in photography for the glory of God. Thank you for your hard work and desire to shoot to serve!

Lydia BennettKeymasterThis assignment is now LIVE for February 2026! Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with for photographing it this month. And as always, if you have any questions (or even if you just need encouragement!) along the way, share that here as well!

James StaddonKeymasterSuper! Thank you Cody (@samuelwest). I really like that first one, where you’re so close to the tree. I wonder if that same effect could have been used on the next photo, only better because there are those ribs (or are they vines?) going up the side of the tree, that could almost be used as leading lines into the scene.

ParticipantHere are my photos for the assignment. My brothers and I went to Ft. Frederica first to shoot for this assignment, but it was later in the day than I was hoping, so the sun was lower in the sky than I wanted. Later, I shot some more pictures in the woods behind our house when I had a chance to do it earlier in the day.

ParticipantThat’s a good point Mr. James! I don’t remember if I was as close to the base of the tree as possible or not, but it does appear in the picture like I could’ve gotten closer and made a better composition. I still have a lot to learn about having an eye for creating not just a decent, but an epic composition.🙂

Loewen FamilyParticipantHere are my submissions for this assignment! I finally got to shoot one again, yay!
I have a couple summertime ones that I found in my portfolio, and then the rest are from right here on our yard, just tramping through our little bit of woods! The first couple days I attempted to shoot the assignment were kind of difficult, as I had a very plain sky to work with. (One attempt it was snowing, but snowflakes kept landing on my lens, so that didn’t help much. :D) But then I got a chance to run out one day when we finally had some sunshine and oh my, the difference was Ahhmazing. So most of these are from that short photoshoot.
Hope they are a blessing!February 19, 2026 at 5:14 pm #100081
