ParticipantAlso, when I needed to change video formats or compress stuff to save space, I used an avi converter from https://www.movavi.com/support/how-to/how-to-convert-avi-to-mp4.html that handled everything without messing up the quality. Super useful since older Macs hate certain formats and really slow down when loading large files.

ParticipantI helped with a similar outreach a while back and it was super rewarding, lots of hands-on experience, and you really grow fast working in that kind of environment.

ParticipantBest luck I’ve had is early mornings near open fields, just sit still and be patient. Binoculars help a lot for spotting them first.

ParticipantI used GIMP for a bit too, and while it was a bit clunky at first, once I got the hang of it, I managed solid results for basic editing like color fixes and cleaning up portraits. For more advanced edits though, I used Preview surprisingly often, just for cropping, resizing, and annotations.

ParticipantI wouldn’t crank the quality to 100% unless you’re planning on doing some serious printing. For most digital uses, like sharing online or emailing, you can usually get away with a lower quality setting (like 70-80%) and still have it look great. Also, 300 PPI is overkill for digital viewing. Try exporting a version at 72 PPI and see if that helps with the graininess. It might just be that your file is getting too big and Lightroom is struggling to process it smoothly.

ParticipantI like the editing, looks good tbh. I would also love to see some when it’s flying so maybe next time?
