I'm a home schooling mother of 8 who loves to record our life in pictures. Just one two-month mission trip to NZ and PNG brought 9,000 pictures! I don't know a lot about taking good pics. I mostly point and shoot with my Panasonic Lumix, the camera my husband bought for me in 2007. I liked it so much that after than camera wore out a few weeks after he died in 2010, I asked for help finding a new camera and received the recommendation from my husband's friends to get a Canon Powershot SX 30. I found it twice a heavy, it didn't have the sunset setting that I love and use a lot, and it started taking three of every picture. When you take lots of pictures, tripling them unnecessarily is terrible! I looked for and found the very same Lumix camera I had before, new in box, on eBay and use that. But my daughter was allowed to use our new friends' DSLR and liked that. We may have to shell out the money for a new camera because of problems with the SD card. We don't have time to attend workshops, so I hope this blog will help us improve our photography and maybe pick a new camera! I also have a son who takes pictures as a side business, especially weddings. So picture-taking is here to stay in our family. We attend Old Paths Bible Baptist Church in Holley, NY.
