October 12, 2015 at 7:50 am #13974Ezra MorleyModerator@oksch, I’m afraid your attachment didn’t come through… Very likely the file size is over the 2MB limit. You will need to resize/compress it to get it below 2 MegaBytes in size. If you’re not sure how, check out my post here: https://www.lenspiration.com/forums/topic/resize-and-compression-tools-for-photographers/

October 16, 2015 at 10:00 am #14013Joshua OngParticipantHi @oksch, I thought I might give you some advice regarding resizing your picture. Previously, I tried posting a picture that had a file size larger than 2MB. Since the picture didn’t get through, I used Paint to resize the picture. After opening my picture in Paint, I went to the top left hand side of the window and clicked on Resize. I changed the horizontal pixel value which immediately changed the vertical value simultaneously. Then I saved the picture on Paint. The resulting picture had a memory small enough to be posted on the forum. I hope this information helps you as you resize and repost your picture on the forum.

I was wondering just what your goal was with having only the grass in focus and everything else blurry, so I started using my imagination! What comes to my mind is someone peacefully lying in the grass with their mind in a relaxed and carefree state staring blankly at the grass in front of them, oblivious to the rest of the world. Suddenly the peacefulness is shattered by an uninvited and careless biker who is bearing down rapidly as the relaxed person lying in the grass tries to focus and comprehend what is happening 🙂 IF this was the desired effect, the biker should be or at least should appear to be in action. If your desire was to make a portrait of a person sitting calmly on a bicycle, then I would suggest that the biker and his bike be in focus.
October 20, 2015 at 8:56 pm #14053Ezra MorleyModeratorYou’re welcome, @oksch! I too was wondering what exactly you were trying to show by having the main subject out of focus. Is there something obvious that I’m missing? 🙂
October 21, 2015 at 8:02 am #14056Joshua OngParticipantYou’re welcome, @oksch. Unfortunately, there is no way to change the subject of focus on your picture if you intended to do that. I also posted a picture of a bike on the forum that was wrongly focused. You can see it on this link: https://www.lenspiration.com/forums/topic/changing-the-subject-of-focus/. Somehow, I could not get the bike in sharp focus as I had hoped even with a photo-editing software called Photoshop Express Android App that is on a tablet. I also was wondering what you were aiming for in that bike picture. Maybe, if you had the chance to take the picture again, you could have the bike in focus.
October 28, 2015 at 5:06 pm #14260O. S.ParticipantThank you all for all the suggestions. It’s sooooo helpful! And so sorry for not being able to respond. Sometimes I wonder where time goes! To be honest, I’m not quite sure what I was trying to achieve with the angle, just kinda a spur of the moment thing😄. @dan cope, I really loved reading what you thought I might have been trying to accomplish!!!
