Lydia BennettKeymasterTry re-uploading a smaller version of this photo as well, @avender-smith! 🙂
It looks like this version is too large.

Lydia BennettKeymasterAfter rain is a great time to go out and take pictures of flowers! The color is so vibrant. It can be challenging if it’s a bit dark out, but other than that it’s such a nice time for photography!
Compositionally, I probably would leave a little more breathing room on the left. You have a nice framing element with the leaf in the upper right corner, and the flowers themselves are a nice shape. And I love how you found a patch of green to backdrop the flowers too. It would just feel more balanced if the flowers weren’t centered, especially since they’re “pointing” towards the left side of the frame.
The photo also seems a little soft, so I’m not sure if the focus just wasn’t quite nailed, or if you had a slower shutterspeed due to the low light and that’s giving a lack of clarity. But just keep an eye on that, and continue to learn how to work through those issues.

Lydia BennettKeymasterI got my Peak Design backpack off their marketplace page, where they list used items. I’m not sure how it price compares to ebay, but if you’re looking to go with Peak Design, that would be another place to look for discounts.

Lydia BennettKeymasterThis assignment is NOW LIVE for April 2026!
I know from past experience that it is a stretching experience to photograph this concept, but it is 1000% worth it. You will learn so much by doing it. So, work through the challenges and obstacles that come your way, and let us know how you can help you through those if we can!
As a side note, some of the photos I took in the past for this assignment are my highest-selling photos on stock photography websites, so if you sell on stock, it might be worth submitting the photos you take. I’m not promising you’ll make a lot off it, but apparently this is a category of photo that there’s not a lot of out there, so it may help fill that need!
