Hey @silas, 14.1in should work, though it’s a little on the small side. I have a 15.6in.
By the way, I’ve been trying to reach out to you via email. Did you get my email from Tuesday?

is 1.9ghz good for a photo editing laptop
@jamesstaddon I sent you an emailJuly 21, 2018 at 8:47 am #32254Ryan MadarisParticipantHi Silas! Another computer I like to use is the Lenovo Ideapad 330s. Lenovo Ideapad 330s It has 128 GB of storage, so there’s not half as much as the previous computer I showed you. One thing I like about this computer is the large screen (15.6 inches to be exact) and it also has 8 GB of RAM. It’s a bit over $500.00, though, so if you were to go with this one you’d have to save up a little longer.

Lightroom utilizes all the available cores, so if your clock speed is lower, but you have 16 cores, it might just beat a overclocked 4 core. Most programs can only use one thread (core), however, so you should chose a faster ghz if that is the case. Do you know what you want to run for editing software?

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2018July 21, 2018 at 3:27 pm #32274Josiah WaldnerParticipantIn the system requirements, Adobe says that a minimum of 1.6 ghz is required. So it should work ok, unless you are trying to work with 40+ megapixel photos, or hundreds of layers. The only scenarios I can think of that would get that extreme are astrophotograpy stacking, or merging panoramas. You might experiences some lag when doing this, but it should work, provided you have enough RAM. I would try for 8gb with that processor. I have a old version of Elements, and it runs quite well on a i3 (2core, 1.8ghz) processor, 4 gb of ram, and a integrated intel Gpu. The brushes may be a little less fluid without a dedicated graphics processor, but probably not as bad as Photoshop CC.
