Stormy Sunset

Stormy Sunset
The power of the editing tools that are available is truly amazing! I’m still learning how to do it and make things look “right”. Of course, “right” is often a matter of opinion. I fall somewhere in between the diehard “Make-it-look-just-the-way-you-saw-it” approach and the... Read More »

Actually, I really like that composition. The tongue gives it a interesting kick that draws interest. Good shot. The editing was done with the purpose in mind of keeping him from looking like he lived in a algae covered jungle, and moving him to a cold mountain. Read More »

@HeldInHisArms Yes, the glowing was caused by a editing technique. I’m not sure if that would be a problem if it were used for a stock photo. Read More »

Yep, the card that I can get 60 MB/s read speed, is actually rated at 90 MB/s! I suspect that the bottleneck in my case is the card reader. I only have a built in card reader, and I don’t even have a USB 3.0 port, so I can’t test my USB 3.0 card reader… If you’re in the market for a good SD... Read More »

I like the horizontal composition myself! I’m not a huge fan of vertical compositions, so that’s probably the main reason… 🙂 I also like the contrast between the orange of the sunrise, and the blue sky up higher. Read More »

Finding the Perfect Redwoods Picture

Finding the Perfect Redwoods Picture
When I arrived in Sacramento yesterday for the Family Conference ACTION Photography Team here this week, it started bringing back memories of the last time I was in California . . . Have you ever seen a picture of some place you wished you could go? Well, where the great redwood trees grow is a place I always wished... Read More »

Thanks for all the input! Here’s another shot I took that morning. I didn’t really like the composition real well because it seems like the flowers are too high. I wish I would have raised my camera a little higher to make the flowers lower in the frame. Read More »
