Hey @rmadaris, that certainly is a beautiful scene! Very nice. In shooting it, I may have gotten a bit lower to the ground to “feel” the foreground area better. Editing, maybe bring up the clarity & sharpen it a little bit. Also, I think I’d edit out that thing far down the road (a truck?);... Read More »

Since there’s not construction equipment readily available to me and I didn’t have the chance to go and find some, I thought I’d try out the “other ideas” option. 🙂 A rolling pin in action seemed like it could illustrate the concept, so here’s what I... Read More »

That’s interesting that your picture turned out blurry. I took a similar shot with an exposure of 3 sec, iso 400, and f/7.1. it still seemed to turn out pretty clear. perhaps there was some tripod shake? if you tripped the shutter without a remote, that may have been part of it. here is the shot I... Lens flare has everything to do with the angle of the light hitting the lens. If you don’t want a great big blob of green, the best way to get rid of it is to shift your camera. It doesn’t take much to change the angle of light. Unfortunately, once the photo is taken, it’ll require a photoshop job... Read More »

Wow, this is really neat @frazer-family! @elianafranzenburg I was thinking more of Photoshopping in the light from the lighthouse, like the Frazer’s did. First I’d study pictures that had REAL light emanating from a lighthouse and then use layers and masks in PS to make mine look as close to it as... Read More »

Mountain Sunset

Mountain Sunset
We were having a beautiful sunset at our house the other day, so I decided to try and get a long exposure shot that included the stars. I would love any suggestions for re-shoots, or editing. the second picture is an edited version, where I tried to bring out the stars a bit more. Shutter speed: 30 sec F/7.1 Iso 400... Read More »

Here’s my attempt at it: four pictures compiled in GIMP 2.8; three of lightening and one of the lighthouse. The picture of the lighthouse was actually taken in the middle of the day, so I darkened it significantly. Eliana Franzenburg, here’s a quick description of how I did it, in GIMP, (because... No, I’m sorry I must have not been clear when I stated, my bad. The already apparent Lens flare is orange/yellowish if you look, then the bigger it gets it turns green colored. I am fine with the orange, I don’t want the green, how do I get rid of the green lens flare? How do I keep it just orange... Read More »

Ok, Thank you for the link, I think I understand… but just to clarify, why is it now green? I know about the lens flare, I purposefully incorporated that for the added effect. What I don’t understand is why it started orange and then went to a green color? Can someone please help me figure that out and... Read More »

Augh! What happened?!
Help! I don’t know what happened or how to remove it! So I was taking a photo today and saw this sunset and took some pictures of it, but it was too dark so I put on HDR to brighten the photo more. After turning HDR on I saw the horrible huge green circle! What happened?! Does anyone know how to remove this? Is... Read More »

Wintery Wonder

Wintery Wonder
Early last week, Connecticut was blanketed in a thin layer of snow, followed by rain which quickly froze. Ice was on everything! Everywhere you looked, everything was coated in ice. Although it wasn’t optimal living conditions (we had to bang through ice to get into cars and house, etc.), we saw some of the... Read More »
