Thanks for the feedback, @ernestf-lloyd, @jamesstaddon and @creative-click-photography! Your input really did help me think through my options! I actually ended up ordering only 3 designs. The way it was working out with the quantity to order for each design, I was going to end up with A LOT of notecards, and thought... Read More »

Hi there @esther! These were soo fun to look at – my brother graduated from Lackland last November and your pictures gave me happy flashbacks to our family’s trip down there! It was fun to see how similar everything looked to my pictures, except they’ve upgraded the camo between then and now so there’s a slight... Read More »

Hey @James, Thanks for the comments. Attached are two versions of 20181008_WCF_0353 with glows made up in GIMP, using some modifiable filters, Supernova and Gradient Flare. Do I need to upload these to Dropbox as well? 20180528_EJF_9349.jpg was taken on a scenic outlook of the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island, NS.  ... Read More »

I enjoyed looking at the process you took to get the glowing effect in the first shot, @ernestf-lloyd. Removing the little distractions really does help. It appears that the natural warmth or softness of the scene was lost in the first edit, though. And I think the glow may cover too much of the scene. Perhaps if it... Read More »

Good thoughts, @frazer-family. Do you think you would want to experiment with adding some glow to 20181008_WCF_0353-2.jpg using whatever program you currently have? Also, I would be very curious to know where 20180528_EJF_9349.jpg was taken. It looks like you have a very efficient method of organization to be able to... Read More »

I also thought that maybe a black&white version could be neat. I don’t know if that would be an option…maybe that’s not the style they’re looking for. Anyhow, here’s a black and white version. Read More »

Here’s a few of the pictures that I took for this assignment. I thought I’d show the 3 steps I took for improving this photo(just for fun!) I wasn’t sure if my added light source looks a little too fake or not, but I thought I’d give it a try anyway! The last photo I uploaded just seems really... Read More »

Here are some more paths, roads and trails. The last picture is not really a path, but the stormy feel reminded me of the words of “Teach me thy way, O Lord”. Verse two and the beginning of verse three have key words such as “sad at heart”, “hours of loneliness”, and “doubts... Read More »

Reply To: Shooting to the glory of God

Fantastic topic, Logan! It’s great to have these types of discussions and encourage one another in the Lord! I once heard a preacher ask this very question in context of 1 Corinthians 10:31. What does it mean to bring glory to God (even in mundane things like eating and drinking)? The preacher was saying that it... Read More »

Any know how to use Affinity Publisher?

A missionary friend of mine who uses wall calendars as part of their ministry outreach asked me this question: Do you know of anyone who would like a design challenge with Affinity Publisher? We could use help with the layout. We’ve used InDesign in the past, but plan not to in the future. We do not have an... Read More »
