My Favorite Lens

When I upgraded to my full-frame camera last year, it meant retiring my wonderful EF-S IS USM 17-55mm f/2.8 lens. It was the best lens I knew of for the APS-C sensor camera. It’s as close to an ‘L’ series lens as you can get in build and image quality and with extremely fast focus speeds and Image Stabilization. I was shocked at how excellent hand-held shots turned out in low light environments. It was a good enough wide angle lens that I used for both indoor events and shooting landscapes; it’s sharp, has great color rendition, and with IS it was almost permanently attached to my camera from the day I bought it.

But now I’m selling it on Ebay! Here’s a summery of it’s condition:

I’ve used this lens a lot and have never had a problem with it. I bought it from Adorama refurbished and used it regularly for about 3 years. There is some dust inside the barrel but nothing that effects image quality. There is one very small scratch on the front glass element, as well as a scratch on the exterior of the lens near the focus ring. The rest of the lens is in perfect condition and there is no impact damage. In terms of functionality, lens creep is noticeable as is expected with normal use over time with this lens.

The auxiliary UV filter, lens hood and front lens cap that come with the lens have noticeable wear, but they fulfill their functions flawlessly and there are no scratches on the filter glass. The photos show no sign of distortion and image quality is still as sharp as the day I bought it. The lens is solid and in my opinion will last a long, long time.

Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested in buying it or have any questions!
