When I was first getting started into photography, I remember wishing that somehow my pictures could be used for something bigger than myself. I knew my pictures weren’t all the great most the time, but I knew that some of them were good, and I wished they could have been used in some way. Have you felt this way?
And guess what. It’s still that way for me. Not all my pictures are great, but I still have a desire to do something greater than shoot for my own personal enjoyment of taking them and looking at them later after editing them. And so this is one of the reasons why I’ve started something called, Shoot to Serve.
Earlier this week, I took a hike with some friends. It was an epic sunrise. It was a much more picturesque location than I was expecting, so I couldn’t help but take pictures of the awesome things that were happening around me. It was great fun.
But afterward, coming off the mountain and logging into Shoot to Serve, I feel a deeper enjoyment as I submit my pictures for the latest Shoot to Serve Opportunity: a ministry needs pictures that illustrate and “Stepping in the Light” and “Sunlight”. Why not try to see if my pictures could be used? What a great morning it was to shoot for those subjects!
Of all the pictures that I took, I don’t have too many that will work well, but I do have a few, and that’s what counts. Do you have a few? Can you take a few? Or maybe just one? If you’re a PRO Member, log in and take advantage of the deeper enjoyment of helping others with your photography! This opportunity will end soon, so please make your submissions ASAP!
