What a remarkable week it has been! There’s nothing else quite like spending time in the Northwoods of Michigan seeking God with a group of other young men dedicated to serving the Lord. We are on our way back to Chicago today, and look forward to seeing how the...
October Color
October in Glacier NP Jesus said unto them, “Verily I say unto you, if ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, ‘Be thou removed,' and be thou cast into the sea;’ it shall be...
Away for a Week
“Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer.” These words from Romans 12:11-12 have been a driving force and encouragement to me over the past few weeks. And now I look...

From all the pictures that I took on our recent trip to Alberta, this one stands out as one of my favorite. It was really the only opportunity we had to spend time for a family picture. After traveling in the car for hours on end through the unchanging landscape of...

A Picture Perfect Place
Just had to comment on a few shots from one of the photo excursions in Montana: Alone, Yet Not Alone Odd looking hay bail, eh? I could hardly believe there was a moose as far east as Bloomfield. The locals said it had been maybe 20 years since they’d seen a moose...
The Nearest Pull Off
After sighting the grizzly bear, we continued on into the Many Glacier section of Glacier National Park fully intending to make it to Swiftcurrent Lake for sunset. We never made it, but this pull off worked well enough! About the Picture: I am finding out more and...
Dealing With the Unexpected
I have been almost a full week in the remote parts of Montana and South Dakota without cell phone reception or Internet. But now that I’m back in civilization, let me share some of the incredible images from this incredible excursion! About the Picture: It’s not...

The Badlands of Alberta
Today we toured the Canadian badlands of Drumheller, Alberta! Though we went to many places in the badlands today, the hoodoos were by far the most spectacular things we saw! About the picture: Despite the fact that it was in the middle of the day when we visited...
Pic of the Month: September ‘12
Sentinel Pass For this month’s pic, I simply wanted to express my gratefulness to the Lord for the many photo ops He’s allowed me to take this month. From the hills of New Hampshire to the mountains of Alberta, Canada, I’ve been blessed with opportunities beyond...
Rainbow Morning
After wearing myself out at Banff yesterday, I felt like sleeping in this morning. In fact, I set no alarm and planned no morning photo shoot. Why get up early in a spot that’s simply a rural, home setting? However, my plans quickly changed when my brother shook me...
Morning in Banff National Park
What an incredible adventure it has been to spend the past three days in Banff National Park camping, taking pictures and touring with my family! About the picture: In the mornings, my brother Jonathan and I would get up before dawn and drive out to a potential...
North Dakota in Autumn
Today was a long day of driving from the southeastern edge of North Dakota right up through to the northwestern corner of the state and up into Saskatchewan, Canada. Wish I had more time to spend in this fascinating part of the country! About the picture: What...
On the Road to Chicago
Wow! It’s been a whirlwind of a week preparing for what has been amusingly dubbed as “The Rockies Road Trip”, a two week vacation and photography excursion to the Canadian Rockies in western Alberta, Canada. On Tuesday my family and I (hereafter described as “we”)...
Beware of . . . Belted Galloway
Before returning home from New England this morning, I headed out into the pastures before sunrise to get some last shots of the beautiful farm our family was staying at over the weekend. In this picture, the head honcho of the small herd of Belted Galloway, a...
New Hampshire Architecture
Today concluded the first ever New Hampshire FEW Conference! Having never been in this part of the country before, it was fun to observe and shoot the architecture in the area. Despite the fact that it was right at sunset when I took this picture of the building...

Another behind the scenes shot....thanks to @real_lukas_n Though I usually use a tripod for landscape photography, there was no time in this situation where it was literally raining. When I saw the distant mountains after pulling in for only a short time at this open-to-the-public farm, I knew there was a shot somewhere. This vast field of flooded strawberry plants was the foreground I was looking for, offering perfect leading lines to the triangular peak framed by the sweeping mist.

New blog post! The last bit of light after sunset doesn`t take long to disappear. Sparkling stars were peering through the pinyon pine boughs above us. We were in the deep shadows of dusk as we picked our way down the rock strewn trail back to the parking lot. Read more at link in bio.

Happy Memorial Day! Let us honor their sacrifice by using our freedoms not to do as we please, but to live as we ought. #freedom #integrity #selfcontrol #memorialday #Godblessamerica
New blog post! Rain poured down in torrential waves as we made our way through the Smoky Mountains. We had gotten up insanely early—long before dawn—to make the most of our time photographing at the high-elevation overlooks before the storm. But now the rain was coming down so hard that even the most dedicated among us didn’t feel like stepping out of the car for a photo. Until we rounded a bend and saw... Read more at link in bio.

"For the Lord thy God bringeth thee into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills." Deuteronomy 8:7-9 Every time I photograph a waterfall I should thank the Lord for letting me live in such a blessed land.
