It’s a first! Scripture Memory Fellowship has a 2014 calendar for sale. I wholeheartedly recommend you take a few minutes to read the blog and browse the resources that Scripture Memory Fellowship has to offer! I had the opportunity to personally meet Executive...
After my extended stay in Alaska, I stopped in San Diego to visit a friend before heading across the border into Tijuana to jump into an intense design work-schedule with MissionTalk. I didn’t have much time to be taking pictures in San Diego, so I just went out on...
Click here to view the latest Latest from Lenspiration update. I don’t have enough time to keep up with all the blogs I wish I could follow. However, I do love to get e-mail updates that notify me of what’s up so I can look into the stuff that interests me most....
It actually snowed last night! What a great excuse to get outside and play around with the new camera! And how refreshing it was to be out in the “field” again. The 5D Mark II is very similar to my old 40D in appearance but has some nice improvements. The screen...
The Canon EOS 5D Mark II has now started it’s active service after arriving in the mail today! Besides popping in the battery and releasing the shutter a few times to hear what it sounded like and to test the video function, I haven’t done much with it yet. I’m...
My family helped me to buy a new 23” widescreen monitor for Christmas, just the tool I needed to begin accurately editing pictures for printing! Have you ever ordered prints that looked fabulous on your screen but looked sickeningly yellow, or deathly blue, or...
Another friend of mine recently asked me what SLR I would recommend they get for seriously starting into photography. While there’s no easy answer to this question, it is easy to follow steps to know for yourself which camera is best for you, serious or not. Below,...
“Can you throw together a quick redesign of this book cover before 5:00 this afternoon?” A friend of mine came over to my desk while I was working at IBLP HQ last month and handed me a small book. “It’s a book my father-in-law uses for his prison ministry and we...
Though the ship didn’t leave Port Canaveral until late in the afternoon on Monday, April 30, Josh & Alejandra Guido and I arrived not long after Noon; just like at an airport, there were security and boarding procedures to go through that took a long time. But...
I’m not much for photographing jungles of concrete and metal in search for urban portraits and city landscapes, but when the opportunity arose to spend time with photographer friends near Los Angeles a few weeks ago, I figured it would be worth it to shoot for a...
I didn’t have time to edit pictures today like I was hoping, but I did run across a quote that I thought would make a quick substitute. I read the quote in one of Living Waters’ weekly e-mail newsletters: my top inspiration for witnessing while I’m traveling. I...
As I was browsing around the Internet looking for nice spots to take pictures at in the Los Angles area, I ran across this handy, interactive map called World of Waterfalls. Though it’s not exactly comprehensive, the map is certainly a very useful one for certain...
As I was first getting into photography, I remember debating whether or not to purchase a UV filter for my lens. My online research revealed that there were two major opinions about them: never use them at all or always use them. What should I do? The reason not to...
This quaint little bridge, situated just off Rt. 7 in the lightly populated county of Litchfield, Connecticut, is probably the smallest covered bridge I have ever seen. Just tall enough to walk through, the miniature, almost romantic little structure is the gateway...
An explanation of why a battery pack is helpful to have.
I had this question not too long ago. Though I love shooting wide angle, it does present a problem: distortion; especially of buildings or straight horizons. So my real question was: “Are there any lenses out there that do not have distortion?” Well, after a bit of...
The principles of finding the right tripod is not much different than finding anything else relating to photography, such as a compact camera. Therefore, having just finished going through the process of researching and purchasing a new tripod, I will expound more...
George poked his head into the office. “I’m heading off to Australia tomorrow for the annual ATI Conference” he said. “Would you be the one to ask for a camera to bring along with me?” Yes, I was the guy to talk to. But what camera would I give him? The old Nikon...
After returning from Peru, I knew the backpack I had chosen for travel, the Calumet BP935 Small Backpack, was not the one for me. It was very nice, but here were the drawbacks for me: Did not fit my back very well. Even with a waist strap, it was just too big for...
