It snowed for the third time this season the other day! Here in West Virginia, it’s uncommon to be getting this much snow at this time of year, but it certainly is a pleasant surprise. The snow made me think of past winter pictures, so I thought I’d post a few...
Went through some pictures today from my trip out to the West Coast in September! I posted some things earlier about southern California, but that was really just the first leg of my journey. My real purpose for traveling from Los Angeles to Sacramento by car...
I've been shipping out calendars almost daily now, and it's exciting to think about where they are all going. A church in Connecticut, a fundraising project in California, a prison ministry in Arkansas, a family owned store in Virginia, friends and family in...
It’s hard to believe that an entire week has passed and the prison Journey to the Heart is over! It was an experience I will never forget. Seeing men convicted of crime facing heart issues, restructuring their belief system around Biblical principles, and even...
I traveled out to Topeka on Saturday and have been spending time with the Lindsay family preparing for CAPTURE Kansas! The Lindsay’s are a great family with 9 energetic kids and we had a great time playing together over the weekend. On Sunday we went out and...
This is really odd. It’s practically 10:00pm and it’s still pretty light outside as I get ready for bed. It’s even more strange to think that at 12:00 midnight tonight there will still be vestiges of light on the horizon, as I noted was the case on the drive back...
Of all the pictures I have ever taken, I can’t think of one single image that I have taken in the state of Maryland! That is, until a few weeks ago. On a weekend excursion to the Normoyle’s home in Dickerson, MD, our families took a hike close to their home to a...
Happy Independence Day! One reason I’m grateful for a day off the normal grind of every-day responsibilities is that one can be available for doing things that one wouldn’t normally have the time to do . . . like, agree at the drop of a hat to drive 40 minutes away...
The sunrise of March 10 was simply spectacular! God must have known it was my Mom’s birthday. Right as it was getting light that morning, I saw these stratocumulus clouds spreading out evenly across the sky and I knew it was going to be a pretty sunrise. So, with...
The verse that stood out to me on the morning that my brother Michael and I drove from Waxhaw to Marble for the North Carolina FEW Conference happened to be Proverbs 26:13: “The slothful man saith, ‘There is a lion in the way…’” In other words, instead of viewing...
Having brought the CEF Calendar project to a close on Wednesday, I was scheduled to fly on Thursday from St. Louis to Charlotte to attend the Stelzl Business Workshop. No big deal, right? It was fairly early in the week when I first heard about the serious snow and...
As I walked to dinner this evening at the CEF International Headquarters here in Missouri, I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful cloud formations in the sky. The past few days have been either very cloudy or completely clear, so I knew the sunset was going...
After sighting the grizzly bear, we continued on into the Many Glacier section of Glacier National Park fully intending to make it to Swiftcurrent Lake for sunset. We never made it, but this pull off worked well enough! About the Picture: I am finding out more and...
After wearing myself out at Banff yesterday, I felt like sleeping in this morning. In fact, I set no alarm and planned no morning photo shoot. Why get up early in a spot that’s simply a rural, home setting? However, my plans quickly changed when my brother shook me...
Wow! It’s been a whirlwind of a week preparing for what has been amusingly dubbed as “The Rockies Road Trip”, a two week vacation and photography excursion to the Canadian Rockies in western Alberta, Canada. On Tuesday my family and I (hereafter described as “we”)...
Before returning home from New England this morning, I headed out into the pastures before sunrise to get some last shots of the beautiful farm our family was staying at over the weekend. In this picture, the head honcho of the small herd of Belted Galloway, a...
With the forecast projected to be cloudy and rainy in New Hampshire this week, it was a pleasant surprise and a true blessing from the Lord to see a truly beautiful sunset this...
Today was incredibly fun and full of learning all about what it’s like to run an apple orchard! Dad’s Aunt and her family run Cardigan Mountain Orchard up here in New Hampshire, and our visit coincided with the beginning days of the harvest season. With over a...
Clad in cargo pants, t-shirt and hiking boots--my camera pack securely strapped to my back, a tripod dangling from my waist--I was ready for whatever adventure lay before me! But I must say, I felt very much out of place standing there in line with the mob of...
As I was first getting into photography, I remember debating whether or not to purchase a UV filter for my lens. My online research revealed that there were two major opinions about them: never use them at all or always use them. What should I do? The reason not to...
